We are pleased to issue our Spring\Summer 2007 Japanese Language\bilingual Vanuatu Update, which we hope you will find interesting and informative.
Vanuatu remains a very attractive alternative open shipping register, offering a quality service to it’s ship owners\managers which is not always present amongst some of the larger shipping registers.
The Vanuatu Shipping Register has recently expanded its presence in Asia with the establishment of an office in Shanghai, Peoples Republic of China, enhancing the already existing offices in Tokyo, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.
Registration under the Vanuatu flag has now become even more attractive for Japanese Owners, with the elimination of all registration fees for vessels up to 10 years old, and with only a USD 500 administration fee, this offer effective over the next 18 months.
After annual tonnage taxes, inspection and investigation fees, this could represent savings (depending upon the size of the vessel) of up to USD 9,500 per vessel)
Registration fee reductions have also been introduced for Japanese owners with vessels over 10 years old.
An outline of the offered Registration Fee Structure for Japanese Owners is included herewith, this of course also applying to existing Japanese owners who register new tonnage during the stipulated period.
We shall be happy to answer your inquiries in respect to these new and greatly reduced registration fees, along with any other inquiries that you may have regarding registry of your vessels under the Vanuatu flag.
You can, of course, also make inquiries directly to our New York Office.
A power point introduction to the Vanuatu shipping register is also available upon request.
We would like to take this opportunity to make an early announcement of visits to Japan later this year by Mr. Don Sheetz, (Executive Vice President – New York) and Mr. Robert Bohn (Vice President – Port Vila) both Don and Robert being well known to many of our readers.
It is also hoped that we may be able to welcome Mr. Less John Napuati, the Commissioner of Maritime Affairs.
We intend to hold some local receptions to introduce the Vanuatu Shipping Register in Japan, and to update existing Vanuatu flag shipowners, during the period 9th through 12th of October 2007.
Invitations to these receptions will be issued next month.
With best wishes
Capt. C.H.Grainger (MNI) Deputy Commissioner of Maritime Affairs Republic of Vanuatu
